My first "successful" painting

This is the first painting I did at the studio that I didn't toss - it was my third attempt so it was probably early June. I struggled with the differences in shade and tone in the body of the pepper, but it turned out much better than I ever expected.

Things I like:
  • the greens and shading on the brussel sprouts
  • the texture of the background
  • the shadow on, and between, the peppers.
  • the shapes

Things I don't like:
  • the highlights on the peppers
  • the awkward tonal changes on the peppers

  1. I, on the other hand, really like the highlights on the peppers.

  2. Thank you! I need to add another section to my blog for non-art related, yet cool, blogs and include yours.

  3. I love Brussels Sprouts and these look delish! I think your work is just beautiful. I enjoyed the evolution of the pears in your more recent work as well. Keep up the good work.
